Hard Materials Drilling by BLITZ-OEM Laser System
Hard materials like ceramics and carbides are very important materials in electronics and mechanics; due to their intrinsic mechanical hardness and high melting temperature, laser micro-machining is a viable method to work these materials to create holes, trenches or cutting parts off. The high beam quality of BLITZ-OEM System allows a high definition of geometries with an excellent maintenance of aspect ratio in drilling and milling through holes and trenches, or cutting. The high beam energy density and pulsed operation of this fiber laser system are also a key features to enable hard materials machining at high erosion rates even though they are excellent thermal conductors; such ability makes these processes cost effective for mass manufacturing.
